Ryunosuke Akutagawa's memorial day is called 'Kappa Day' because he enjoyed painting kappas during his lifetime, and his late works include the novel 'Kappa.' After his death, friends and writers held memorial gatherings called 'Kappa Day' at the Tatenoya Ryotei Tennen Jishoken, which continued annually from 1930 to 1943. Currently, the museum maintains this tradition. This exhibition traces its history and showcases the heartfelt connections between Akutagawa and writers like Kikuchi Kan and Kubota Mantaro who cherished his memory.
