Special Disaster Broadcast: "Beyond the Stars"
September 4–13, 2026
In conjunction with Disaster Preparedness Month in September, this program will be screened. Created by the Sendai Astronomical Observatory, which experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake firsthand, this show was produced as one of the ways for museums in affected areas to reflect on the disaster. It's an opportunity to consider disaster preparedness and our relationship with nature. Suitable for elementary school students and above (on September 4th, students below junior high must be accompanied by a guardian). Preschool children are not permitted. Capacity is 170 people, with two wheelchair spaces and no floor seating available. Numbered tickets will be distributed at the first-floor main reception from 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event, first-come, first-served.
