An 'Artist-in-Residence' is a program where artists stay in a region for a certain period to create art and interact with the community. This time, two groups are based in Kita-Urawa, and from mid-October for about a month, Yugo Koguri will be staying there. Koguri plans to photograph local residents as models and create paintings based on research of the Saitama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art's collection. In the latter half of the stay, the studio will be open to the public as an 'Open Studio', offering a chance to casually drop by and observe the creation process.
