No Centre 1 Moving Picture (946-3) Reich / Richter
The Japan premiere of "Moving Picture (946-3)", a film-and-music work combining footage by painter Gerhard Richter and filmmaker Corinna Belz, built from Richter's 2016 abstract painting, with live music by Steve Reich, marking the launch of the new cross-disciplinary project No Centre in the year of Reich's 90th birthday. Ensemble Nomad performs the score and also plays works by Korean composer Hanurri Lee and by Toru Takemitsu, who was closely tied to the Sogetsu Art Center in the 1960s.
