Nguyen Son Tung "Echoes of Life | Tea from Vietnam"
Wednesday, August 5, 2026
The opening exhibition of a traveling photography project organized by Vietnamese tea specialist Tinh. Following its presentation in Tokyo, the exhibition will travel to Vietnam.
Through tea sales and cultural events, Tinh has long introduced the traditions and communities behind Vietnamese tea. This exhibition marks a new chapter in that work, using photography to explore the culture of tea production. In collaboration with Vietnamese photographer Nguyen Son Tung, the organizers conducted fieldwork in tea-growing regions of northern Vietnam, documenting the landscapes and the lives of the people who cultivate them.
In the mountainous north of Vietnam, tea trees are more than agricultural crops. They exist as part of an interconnected ecosystem of forests, soil, rain, microorganisms and human life, where the boundaries between nature and people are deeply intertwined. Through photographs, the exhibition traces the passage of time across the landscape and the "baton of life" carried forward through generations of care and artistry.
The exhibition will also feature related events, including talks with guests involved in tea culture, tea gatherings and tasting sessions.
