Machida Historical Festival 2026

The Machida Historical Festival is an annual event honoring the history and culture of the region, including the warrior clan of Oyamada who were active during the Kamakura period. A costumed parade featuring samurai in armor and local militia reenactors proceeds from Machida Station (Jounji Temple) to Serigaya Park. At Serigaya Park, spectators can experience the excitement of mounted archery demonstrations, the thunderous sounds of matchlock gun firing, and other performances such as sword drawing and traditional martial arts.
