Kitazawa Hachiman Shrine Annual Grand Festival
September 5–6, 2026
A lively festival in the youthful neighborhood of Shimokitazawa. Every year, the highlight is the powerful parade of around 20 portable shrines from eight local groups, carried together along Chazawa Street before entering the shrine grounds. Afterward, each group continues to carry their shrine in their area until around 7–8 PM. The festival also features stalls run by local residents (not commercial vendors), offering unique local flavor.
