⌖ Open in Maps ↗"To Eat the Sun" playfully imagines the sun as an entity that can be ingested, whilst standing as a metaphor for home and belonging. It embodies a desire to reconnect with one's origins, whilst simultaneously confronting the strangeness and instability of memory. Within the works, this symbol evolves and multiplies, generating new characters and visual metaphors that blur the boundaries between the personal and the mythical. "To Eat the Sun" marks Inês Miguel Oliveira's first exhibition in Japan, presenting the results of her residency at Air 3331.
