Artists Gathering at the Cafe – From Impressionists to Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso
Saturday, June 13, 2026
This exhibition focuses on the cafe culture that served as a creative hub for artists from the late 19th to early 20th century. Set against the backdrop of Paris cafes, cabarets, and dance halls, it traces the emergence of Impressionism and new artistic expressions. The display includes approximately 130 works such as masterpieces by Édouard Manet, Vincent van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Pablo Picasso, along with posters and prints. It explores the spreading of these artistic movements from Montmartre to Barcelona and delves into how cafe culture influenced young Picasso. Additionally, during the special night hours from 6 pm, behind-the-scenes stories related to cafes, geared more towards adults, are also shared.
