Sumida Five Colors Art Festival

A comprehensive arts festival held at various locations throughout Sumida Ward. For about four months, a wide range of events—including exhibitions, theater, dance, and music—are hosted not only in galleries and theaters but also in old houses, shopping streets, and along the Sumida River terrace. The festival explores the 'Five Colors of Sumida' theme through diverse genres, such as visual art, theater, dance, music, science, food, community care, and city walks, offering opportunities to connect with the area’s history, culture, and everyday life. In addition to more than 30 independently organized projects by artists, there are also local participation projects selected by public application. The entire neighborhood becomes a canvas, providing unique art experiences that blend the community and the arts, beyond what can be found inside museums or halls.
