This special exhibition introduces the history of architecture and urban planning in ancient Near Eastern civilizations through various models and archaeological artifacts. Over 30 architectural models created by the Ancient Orient Museum are on display, including detailed scale models and full-scale reconstructions of residences, temples, palaces, tombs, city walls, and archaeological sites. Visitors can experience the emergence of urban civilization from around 5000 years ago, with reconstructed models of the ancient city of Uruk, the legendary Tower of Babel in Babylon, and the circular ruins of Göbekli Tepe, as well as full-scale reproductions of ancient Syrian homes and Egyptian tomb chambers.
