This special exhibition focuses on the late Edo period ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige. It's the first comprehensive showcase of his work at the Tokyo National Museum, highlighting his major series such as The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido, The Sixty-Nine Stations of Kiso Kaido, and One Hundred Views of Edo. The exhibition presents these series in three phases, allowing visitors to explore Hiroshige’s evolving artistic style through different works. Additionally, there is a high-resolution digital video corner where visitors can experience the delicate colors and compositions of Hiroshige's prints on a large screen, offering an immersive experience using digital technology.
