Chihiro: The Joy of Travel

Travel was an essential source of pleasure for Chihiro Iwasaki. From a young age, she became familiar with travel by spending holidays in her parents’ hometown in Shinshu and going on mountain climbs with friends from her girls’ school. Despite her busy life as an artist and homemaker, Chihiro always found time for new journeys. This exhibition explores her travel memories through sketches and photographs from trips across Japan and Europe, as well as works like the picture book 'The Red Balloon,' created from her firsthand experiences on the road.
