Shiobara Highland daikon radish is at its best from mid-September, when the temperatures begin to drop, through November just before winter. You can purchase these daikon at roadside stations and local markets, and enjoy dishes made with Shiobara Highland daikon at restaurants and inns throughout the city. In addition, three special events featuring large pots of daikon stew will be held in November.
