Autumn Foliage at Jindai Botanical Garden

Located in Chofu, Tokyo, Jindai Botanical Garden is one of Japan’s premier botanical gardens, featuring around 4,800 plant varieties and 100,000 trees and shrubs. Visitors can enjoy vibrant autumn colors throughout the park, with highlights including the Maple Garden, which has about 100 maple trees representing 55 species such as Japanese maples. The area along the stream near the Epiphyte and Hydrangea Garden features colorful dawn redwoods and bald cypresses. Foliage begins to change in early November, with the Maple Garden reaching its peak from late November to early December. In addition to autumn leaves, seasonal flowers like roses and sasanqua camellias can also be enjoyed. Walking along the park’s paths, visitors can savor the autumn landscape, admire bright leaves dancing in the wind, and relax in peaceful tunnels of foliage—a perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.
