Held at Akasaka Hikawa Shrine, known for over a thousand years as a place of worship for warding off bad luck and matchmaking, this traditional festival has continued since the Edo period. This year, the shrine's sacred portable shrine is featured. On the 11th, the festival eve procession includes a Hikawa festival float and neighborhood mikoshi (portable shrines); on the 12th, children's processions feature kids' mikoshi and a drum float; and on the 13th, the main parade features a shrine procession, the sacred mikoshi, and two Edo-style festival floats making their way through the parish area. There will also be food stalls, bon dance, a special shopping street with local shops, and dedication performances—offering a chance to experience the area's traditions and community bonds.
