Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the discovery of the Paleolithic era, which rewrote Japanese archaeological history by revealing that periods before the Jomon existed on the Japanese archipelago. In 1946, Tadayoshi Aizawa discovered stone tools at the Iwajuku site in Gunma Prefecture, leading to the recognition of the Paleolithic era before the Jomon in Japan. The exhibition showcases artifacts from Iwajuku, including obsidian spear points, as well as Paleolithic stone tools from around the world, reconstructed hunting tools, and dioramas recreating the landscape of that time, highlighting the culture and lives of early humans.
