Marking the 70th anniversary of film director Kenji Mizoguchi's passing in 2026, this first-ever exhibition in his honor celebrates his remarkable achievements. The event will showcase Mizoguchi's life, his filmmaking techniques, and his influence on world cinema. It will also highlight materials left by notable collaborators such as cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa, art director Hiroshi Mizutani, and composer Fumio Hayasaka, offering an in-depth analysis of Mizoguchi's directorial approach. This is a rare opportunity to explore the uncompromising artistry of Mizoguchi's cinema.
