The 39th National Technical College Robot Contest is the national final of a contest begun in 1988, in which students from Japan's technical colleges (kosen) build robots for a new challenge each year. Up to 26 teams chosen from eight regional tournaments compete, and this year's task is a rag-throwing competition in a classroom-style field with buckets, flags and several goals. Doors open at 11:30 and the contest starts at 12:30.
