The annual art illumination at Shiraiya Hotel in Gunma Prefecture, a beloved winter tradition in Maebashi, celebrates its sixth year. This year’s installation is created by painter and picture book author Mirokomachiko. Titled 'Rooted in the Air,' the installation is set within the Green Tower of Shiraiya Hotel—designed by architect Sou Fujimoto to evoke the image of former river terraces—and brings to life the imaginative world painted by Mirokomachiko among the hotel’s lush greenery.
