Soba noodles made with buckwheat flour grown in Kanuma City and less than 30% wheat flour are certified as 'Kanuma Soba.' Soba restaurants from around Kanuma gather at this event, offering their pride and craft for tasting and comparison. The festival also features local specialty products for sale and soba noodle-making demonstrations.
