A special exhibition celebrating the 1250th anniversary of Kobo Daishi Kūkai's birth. It features 88 invaluable cultural artifacts from the main and related temples of all Shingon sects, including treasures associated with Kūkai, masterpieces of esoteric Buddhist art, statues, mandalas, and ritual implements. Visitors can explore the world of Shingon Buddhism and the spread of Kobo Daishi worship, learn about his life and teachings, and view cultural assets related to the Goshichinichi Gishuhō ritual from the Imperial Court to Tōji Temple. The exhibition also includes mandalas depicting the vast esoteric universe, statues representing the history of prayer, and sacred hidden images from various Shingon sects, providing a rare opportunity to view important cultural treasures usually housed in temples across Japan.
