Inspired by Soseki’s experiences teaching at a middle school in Ehime Prefecture, the time he spent living with his close friend Masaoka Shiki during a pivotal year in Matsuyama was crucial to his literary career. This exhibition explores the background behind the writing of 'Botchan', showcases various materials related to memorable characters like Red Shirt and Wild Tanuki, and highlights the unique appeal of the novel.
