This exhibition explores the connection between raw silk—the main material for Noh costumes—and Gunma Prefecture, a major silk producer. With support from the renowned Yamaguchi Noh Costume Research Institute, visitors can appreciate the finest Japanese embroidery techniques and the beautiful brilliance of gold and silver leaf. Tools used for sericulture and silk production in Gunma, designated as important tangible folk cultural properties last July, will also be on display.
