Bungakuza October Atelier Performance: "Footprints"

Absence, deficiency, loss – these are universal issues for humankind. This work is rooted in these essential aspects, created with the belief that art’s role is to help restore the hearts and bodies of those confronted with such challenges. It explores how direct, often uncomfortable pain is represented on stage and draws the audience into difficult subjects. The play also questions whether experiences of physical and social loss—and the resulting sense of discrimination—can be treated as equivalent. Thoughtfully and with hope, it portrays how people continue to live through these issues.
