In Okinawa, many songs such as children's tunes, moral songs, love songs, and work songs have emerged from daily life and are known as 'Ryukyu folk songs,' expressing the feelings of the people. In this class, instructors from Okinawa will teach lessons on Ryukyu folk music, including fast-picking techniques featured in celebratory dances like 'kachaashii.' The instructors are Mariko Iwashima and Fumiko Takano (two instructors per class, alternating).
