Cats Everywhere: Picture Book Illustrations by Naoko Machida
October 24 – December 20, 2026
Naoko Machida, both artist and picture book author, lives by the motto 'cats wherever possible.' Her works, known for their delicate touch and bold compositions, blend a sense of wonder, beauty, humor, and a hint of eeriness—often featuring cats in many forms. This exhibition showcases original illustrations from her major works including 'Night of the Cat Claws,' 'The Nameless Cat,' and 'The Cat Home Alone,' as well as her debut pieces, latest works, cover art, sketches, and rare production materials. Special highlights include new pieces inspired by the Sano Art Museum.
