Returning to the stage after 26 years, this original play by Kunio Kishida Drama Award-winning writer Akira Kawamata boldly reimagines 'The Love Suicides at Sonezaki.' Set in Osaka during the Genroku era, it is a poignant yet powerful ensemble drama exploring the tension between duty and compassion. Instead of traditional gidayu narrative music, the production features a unique collaboration between live rock music and dramatic performance. Improvised music, physical acting, dialogue, and emotion blend into a richly layered ensemble. Experience the intense immediacy made possible by the intimate studio theater atmosphere.
