中山法华经寺是日莲宗大本山之一，创立于镰仓时代，因寺庙山号为正中山，所以被称为中山法华经寺。寺内拥有祖师堂、法华堂、四足门、五重塔等众多重要文化遗产。每年11月1日至2月10日，来自全国的僧侣会在这里进行为期100天、被称为“大荒行”的寒冬严酷修行。修行的开始仪式定于11月1日举行，被称为“百日严寒修行入门仪式”。2月10日则举行修行圆满的“百日严寒修行圆满仪式”。详情请参阅官方网站。
