Since January 2026 it has carried the name MUFG Stadium under a naming-rights deal that runs to the end of 2030, but its official name is still National Stadium (Kokuritsu Kyogijo), and you will see both on tickets, maps and signs. With 66,727 seats it hosts football, rugby, athletics and the biggest concerts in Tokyo, so the day is mostly about handling crowds. This page covers stations, getting home, luggage, food and where to stay.

## Getting to MUFG Stadium (National Stadium)

The stadium lists four stations: [Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station, Exit A2](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E5%9B%BD%E7%AB%8B%E7%AB%B6%E6%8A%80%E5%A0%B4%E9%A7%85%20A2%E5%87%BA%E5%8F%A3%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E9%9C%9E%E3%83%B6%E4%B8%98%E7%94%BA) on the Toei Oedo Line, 1 minute; [Sendagaya Station](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=JR%E5%8D%83%E9%A7%84%E3%82%B1%E8%B0%B7%E9%A7%85%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%B8%8B%E8%B0%B7%E5%8C%BA%E5%8D%83%E9%A7%84%E3%83%B6%E8%B0%B71%E4%B8%81%E7%9B%AE) and [Shinanomachi Station](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=JR%E4%BF%A1%E6%BF%83%E7%94%BA%E9%A7%85%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E4%BF%A1%E6%BF%83%E7%94%BA34) on the JR Chuo-Sobu Line (local trains only), 5 minutes each; and [Gaienmae Station, Exit 3](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E5%A4%96%E8%8B%91%E5%89%8D%E9%A7%85%203%E7%95%AA%E5%87%BA%E5%8F%A3%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%B8%AF%E5%8C%BA%E5%8C%97%E9%9D%92%E5%B1%B12%E4%B8%81%E7%9B%AE) on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, 9 minutes. The best station depends on your gate, so check the gate on your ticket and the event's own map before you set off. There is no parking or bicycle parking for visitors.

From Shinjuku, the Chuo-Sobu local line reaches Sendagaya in two stops, and the Oedo Line runs from Shinjuku or Tochomae to Kokuritsu-Kyogijo. From Tokyo Station, allow about 20 to 25 minutes: the JR Chuo Rapid Line or the Marunouchi Line to Yotsuya, then one stop on the Sobu local line to Shinanomachi. From Shinagawa (Tokaido Shinkansen), take the Yamanote Line to Yoyogi and change to the Sobu local line for Sendagaya, about 30 minutes. From Haneda, plan about an hour.

- Sendagaya and Kokuritsu-Kyogijo are the busiest. Shinanomachi and Gaienmae are a few minutes further and often easier, and Aoyama-itchome and Kita-sando are also within walking distance.

- Parts of Jingu Gaien are under redevelopment and some paths are closed. Follow signs and staff rather than a map app.

- When Meiji Jingu Stadium next door has a game the same evening, Gaienmae and Sendagaya get even busier.

## After the show and the last train

At a full concert, staggered exit by block is standard and can take a long time; the last blocks sometimes wait an hour or more. Staff send each gate toward a particular station, and the stations may stop people at the entrance for a while. If your train is tight, walking on to a station a little further away, such as Yotsuya or Yoyogi on JR or Aoyama-itchome on the subway, spreads you away from the worst queues.

Local trains run until around midnight, but the last Shinkansen from Tokyo and Shinagawa leave in the evening, for many cities somewhere between about 20:00 and 22:00 depending on the line, so after a concert that ends around 21:00 a same-day Shinkansen home is usually not possible. Check on the day with the route buttons below. Taxis are very hard to get near the stadium after a big event.

- Note which gate you entered and which station the staff route you to; the walking routes out are one-way on busy nights.

## Coin lockers and luggage

The stadium's floor map lists no coin lockers and there is no permanent cloakroom. Some concerts run a paid cloakroom, so read the event notice. The lockers at Sendagaya, Shinanomachi and Kokuritsu-Kyogijo are tiny compared with a crowd of 60,000 and fill early on show days.

The reliable plan is to leave luggage where you arrive in Tokyo or at your hotel. Tokyo Station and Shinjuku Station have large locker banks; the Keio Line side of Shinjuku alone has over 500 lockers.

- Many events check bags at the gate; a small bag makes entry quicker.

## Food before and after

On event days about 30 food stands open on 1F, 2F and 4F, from curry and udon to takoyaki, Korean food and craft beer, and the official MUFG Stadium app has mobile ordering so you can skip the line. Stands open only for events and vary by event, and the 3F concourse shop area is currently closed for renovation.

There are no permanent shops or convenience stores on the grounds, only drink vending machines; the stadium says the nearest convenience stores are a few to ten minutes on foot. [Atre Shinanomachi](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%82%A2%E3%83%88%E3%83%AC%E4%BF%A1%E6%BF%83%E7%94%BA%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E4%BF%A1%E6%BF%83%E7%94%BA34) at JR Shinanomachi has a large Y's Mart supermarket, opened in September 2025, handy for drinks and onigiri. For a sit-down meal, Shinjuku, Yoyogi and Aoyama are a few minutes by train, and eating there before you come is calmer than queuing near the gates.

- Summer events here are hot. Buy drinks before you join the queue and check the event's rules on bottles.

## Staying near MUFG Stadium

The closest hotel is [Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingu Gaien no Mori Premier](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E4%B8%89%E4%BA%95%E3%82%AC%E3%83%BC%E3%83%87%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9B%E3%83%86%E3%83%AB%E7%A5%9E%E5%AE%AE%E5%A4%96%E8%8B%91%E3%81%AE%E6%9D%9C%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC%E3%83%9F%E3%82%A2%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E9%9C%9E%E3%83%B6%E4%B8%98%E7%94%BA11-3), about a minute from Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station, and it sells out very early on big concert dates. Otherwise Shinjuku is the natural base: two stops on the Sobu Line or a few on the Oedo Line, with a huge range of rooms, from the [Keio Plaza Hotel](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E4%BA%AC%E7%8E%8B%E3%83%97%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B6%E3%83%9B%E3%83%86%E3%83%AB%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E8%A5%BF%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF2-2-1) in West Shinjuku to many business hotels.

If you leave by Shinkansen the next morning, stay near Tokyo Station or Shinagawa; both are about 20 to 30 minutes from the stadium. Book as soon as dates are announced, because on big concert weekends hotels across central Tokyo fill up.

## FAQ

**Is MUFG Stadium the same as the National Stadium?**
Yes. MUFG Stadium is the name used from 2026 to 2030 under a naming-rights deal; the official name remains National Stadium (Kokuritsu Kyogijo), which some sports events still use.

**What is the nearest station?**
[Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E5%9B%BD%E7%AB%8B%E7%AB%B6%E6%8A%80%E5%A0%B4%E9%A7%85%20A2%E5%87%BA%E5%8F%A3%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%96%B0%E5%AE%BF%E5%8C%BA%E9%9C%9E%E3%83%B6%E4%B8%98%E7%94%BA) on the Oedo Line, 1 minute from Exit A2. JR Sendagaya and Shinanomachi are 5 minutes, Gaienmae on the Ginza Line 9 minutes.

**Can I bring a suitcase?**
There are no coin lockers at the stadium and no permanent cloakroom, and nearby station lockers fill early. Leave it at Tokyo or Shinjuku Station or at your hotel, and check whether the event runs a cloakroom.

**How long does the exit take after a concert?**
Exit is staggered by block, and for the last blocks it can take an hour or more, plus queues at the stations. Do not plan a tight train connection.

**How do I get there from Tokyo Station?**
Take the Chuo Rapid Line or Marunouchi Line to Yotsuya and change to the Sobu local line for Shinanomachi, about 20 to 25 minutes in total.
