[LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%82%89%E3%82%89%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%8A%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E3%83%99%E3%82%A4%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E6%B5%9C%E7%94%BA2-5-15) is a 10,000-seat arena in Funabashi, Chiba, completed in 2024 next to the LaLaport TOKYO-BAY mall. It is the home of the Chiba Jets basketball team and hosts concerts, fights and other big shows. The good news for a trip: one train from Tokyo Station, a short walk on a raised deck and two big malls for food. The less good news: one small station takes almost the whole crowd after the show, there is no parking and there are no hotels right next door. Here is how to plan around that.

## Getting to LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY

The nearest station is [Minami-Funabashi](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E5%8D%97%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E9%A7%85%20%E5%8D%97%E5%8F%A3%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E8%8B%A5%E6%9D%BE2) on the JR Keiyo Line and JR Musashino Line, about 6 minutes on foot from the South Exit according to the arena. A pedestrian deck links the station to the arena, so the walk is easy even in the rain. The LaLa Terrace TOKYO-BAY mall is connected to the South Exit, and IKEA and LaLaport are on the way.

From Tokyo Station, the Keiyo Line runs straight to Minami-Funabashi in under half an hour. The Keiyo platforms at Tokyo Station are deep underground and a long walk from the other lines, so allow 10 to 15 minutes to or from the Shinkansen gates. From Shinjuku, change at Tokyo Station, or take the Chuo-Sobu local line to Nishi-Funabashi and the JR Musashino Line, where some trains continue to Minami-Funabashi (check the timetable). The Musashino Line also comes in directly from Saitama and Shin-Matsudo.

[Funabashi-Keibajo Station](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E7%AB%B6%E9%A6%AC%E5%A0%B4%E9%A7%85%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82) on the Keisei Main Line is about 16 minutes on foot, with buses to LaLaport. There are also buses from the South Exit of JR Tsudanuma. The arena has no car or bicycle parking, so come by train.

- The [official access page](https://lalaarenatokyo-bay.com/access/) has route maps from Haneda and Narita airports.

- From Tokyo Station, take a Keiyo Line train heading toward Soga (for example bound for Soga, Kaihin-Makuhari or Shin-Narashino). Trains from Tokyo that run onto the Musashino Line (for example to Fuchu-Hommachi) turn off toward Nishi-Funabashi at Ichikawa-Shiohama and do not stop at Minami-Funabashi.

## After the show and the last train

Concerts here often let the audience out block by block, and then almost everyone walks back over the same deck to Minami-Funabashi. It is not a big station, so on full nights expect entry control and a queue on the deck. Plan on 30 minutes or more from leaving your block to being on a train, longer if you are in the last blocks.

Alternatives: walk about 16 minutes to Funabashi-Keibajo and take the Keisei Line to Keisei-Funabashi, next to JR Funabashi Station, where the Sobu Line runs to Tokyo and the Chuo-Sobu local line runs to Akihabara and Shinjuku. If you are heading to Saitama or western Tokyo, look for a Musashino Line train from Minami-Funabashi itself. Taxis are few right after a show.

Local trains toward Tokyo run until around midnight, but the last Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to distant cities leaves earlier in the evening. Count back from it: the exit wait, the walk, the ride to Tokyo and the long transfer from the Keiyo platforms. Check exact times on the day with the route buttons on this page.

- If you are not in a hurry, wait 30 minutes in LaLa Terrace or LaLaport while they are open: the station queue clears fast.

## Coin lockers and luggage

The arena has coin lockers outside the building on the ground floor, next to the sub arena, but use can be restricted for some events. The arena does not run a luggage or stroller storage service; some organisers set up their own, so check the event's notice, including whether large bags or suitcases are allowed in.

Around the station, [LaLa Terrace TOKYO-BAY](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%82%89%E3%82%89%E3%83%86%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B9%20TOKYO-BAY%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E8%8B%A5%E6%9D%BE2-2-1), directly connected to the South Exit, has coin lockers, and [LaLaport TOKYO-BAY](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%82%89%E3%82%89%E3%81%BD%E3%83%BC%E3%81%A8TOKYO-BAY%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E6%B5%9C%E7%94%BA2-1-1) has more. On show days they go early, so the safest plan with a suitcase is to leave it at your hotel or in a locker at a big station on the way, such as Tokyo Station.

- Bring only what fits under your seat if you can: lockers near small stations run out first.

## Where to eat nearby

Inside the arena there is a food and drink shop on the 2nd floor that takes cards, e-money and QR payments only (no cash), plus vending machines on the 1st, 2nd and 4th floors. Whether it is open and whether you can eat at your seat depend on the event.

The two malls next door are the real food options. LaLaport TOKYO-BAY has the Harbor Dining food court on the 1st floor of the West Building and Gourmet Tables on the 3rd floor of the North Building, plus many restaurants. LaLa Terrace, connected to the station, has a food court on the 2nd floor, and [IKEA Tokyo-Bay](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=IKEA%20Tokyo-Bay%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E6%B5%9C%E7%94%BA2-3-30), just outside the station, has a restaurant and a bistro. On show days LaLaport's restaurants fill up through the afternoon, and LaLa Terrace or IKEA are usually calmer.

- Many shops in LaLaport and LaLa Terrace give small perks if you show a same-day arena ticket; the malls' own site lists them.

## Staying near LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY

There are almost no hotels around Minami-Funabashi, so pick a base on the train lines. The Makuhari hotel district at Kaihin-Makuhari is a few stops further along the Keiyo Line, with hotels such as [Hotel New Otani Makuhari](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%83%9B%E3%83%86%E3%83%AB%E3%83%8B%E3%83%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BF%E3%83%8B%E5%B9%95%E5%BC%B5%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E5%B8%82%E7%BE%8E%E6%B5%9C%E5%8C%BA%E3%81%B2%E3%81%B3%E9%87%8E2-120-3). [Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A8%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%AB%E3%83%9B%E3%83%86%E3%83%AB%20%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC%E3%83%99%E3%82%A4%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E6%B5%A6%E5%AE%89%E5%B8%82%E7%BE%8E%E6%B5%9C1-8-2) sits right by Shin-Urayasu Station, also on the Keiyo Line toward Tokyo. [JR East Hotel Mets Funabashi](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=JR%E6%9D%B1%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E3%83%9B%E3%83%86%E3%83%AB%E3%83%A1%E3%83%83%E3%83%84%20%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%20%E5%8D%83%E8%91%89%E7%9C%8C%E8%88%B9%E6%A9%8B%E5%B8%82%E6%9C%AC%E7%94%BA7-1-1) is a minute from JR Funabashi Station, handy if you go back via Funabashi-Keibajo and the Keisei Line.

Staying around Tokyo Station is the easiest choice for an early Shinkansen the next day: the Keiyo Line runs straight there. Bay-area hotels also fill up with Tokyo Disney Resort guests on weekends and holidays, so book as soon as your show is confirmed.

- Check whether your hotel is on the Keiyo Line or near Funabashi: the right base saves a transfer late at night.
