DESCRIPTION:Yukiko Oshima creates abstract stone sculptures with gentle curves and soft forms that invite the viewer to reach out and touch them. Since joining the faculty of Hiroshima City University’s Faculty of Arts in 2025\, the artist has continued to expand her practice through exhibitions at museums and art festivals\, attracting attention for future developments.\n\nThe exhibition title Tokiwa Haze refers to a small wildflower found along roadsides and in fields throughout Japan. Oshima first encountered this plant during her university years\, when she noticed it quietly blooming among overgrown grass on campus. The delicate white-purple flowers\, only around 5 mm in size\, left a lasting impression.
