"I would like to visit your theatre and, if you have time, talk with you." In March 2025, this unexpected email arrived from Claude Roche, a renowned French mask maker and director, who was coming to Japan alone to celebrate his 80th birthday. During his journey across Japan, he was introduced to Yokohama Boat Theatre as a company dedicated to mask theatre. This event will feature an improvised performance of masks and music, a report on their experience in Avignon, France, and an exhibition of masks created by the theatre group.
