DESCRIPTION:During the Edo period\, the Minato area\, facing the sea and situated along the Tokaido route connecting Kyoto\, Osaka and Edo\, was home to people engaged in a wide variety of occupations. Alongside fishers\, there were those who transported goods by boat or ox\, worked at teahouses serving travelers\, or provided goods and services to samurai households.\n\nThrough ukiyo-e prints depicting working people\, historical documents and other materials\, this exhibition explores occupations connected to the sea\, the Tokaido and daimyo residences.
