SUMMARY:Travel and Beauty: Saburo Kurata and Artists Encountering Foreign Lands
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together international works from the Tamashin Collection and works by Japanese artists inspired by experiences abroad\, this exhibition explores how encounters with different places and cultures have shaped artistic expression.\n\nThe exhibition highlights Saburo Kurata (1902–1992)\, a painter and leading figure in art education in the Tama region who played an important role in building the collection. Kurata traveled to more than forty countries\, creating countless landscapes in oil\, watercolor\, and drawing along the way. Postcards collected during these journeys\, preserved in the foundation's archives\, offer further insight into the places and impressions that inspired the work.\n\nWhile travel may not always be possible\, art has the power to carry us elsewhere. Moving through the exhibition\, visitors are invited to follow in the footsteps of these artists and experience the lands...
