DESCRIPTION:Galerie Taménaga Tokyo is pleased to present the exhibition “Takanori Oguiss and Maurice Utrillo — Captivated by the City Streets” from Saturday\, September 5 to Sunday\, September 27. Takanori Oguiss (1901–1986) spent most of his life in France\, where he continued to paint cityscapes imbued with the traces of everyday life. Maurice Utrillo (1883–1955)\, meanwhile\, was born and raised in France and became renowned for his poetic depictions of the stone walls and streets of Montmartre. This exhibition brings together approximately 25 oil paintings by these two masters who\, working during the same period in the first half of the 20th century\, each developed a distinctive perspective on the cityscapes of Paris and the changing scenes they encountered.\n\nThe cityscapes that captivated Oguiss and Utrillo extend far beyond the streets of Paris and Montmartre.
