Dates: November 21 (Saturday) and 22 (Sunday), 2026. Doors open at noon, performance begins at 1:00 PM (approx. 60 minutes). Venue: Yachiyo City Civic Hall, Small Theater (400 seats). This staged reading tells the true story of Genemon Someya, a prominent historical figure from Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture. In the mid-Edo period, Someya, the village head, used his personal fortune to undertake a major waterway construction project connecting Lake Inbanuma to Hanami River, aiming to protect the region from flooding. Facing opposition from villagers, relentless natural forces, and pressure from the shogunate, he passed away before seeing the project's completion. His vision was realized 250 years later in the Showa era. The play recounts his determination, setbacks, and legacy, highlighting local history often omitted from textbooks and aiming to inspire future generations with pride and conviction. [Three acts, approximately 60 minutes.] Ticket Types: 1. General Reserved Seat: ¥4,500 (Row 6–15); 2. Accessible Reserved Seat: ¥4,500 (Row 15 and behind); 3.
