This exhibition looks back at Numazu’s recovery from the ruins and confusion immediately following the end of World War II, and its rapid development as Japan pursued unprecedented economic growth. As Numazu flourished and became a hub for industry, the city also faced the challenges caused by this rapid change, including protests against petrochemical complexes and the birth of the 'Numazu Method' for waste management. Through exhibits, the event introduces approximately 40 years of postwar history, highlighting the determination of locals as they rebuilt their city and shaped its future.
