This exhibition marks 150 years since the passing of Taro Hideyoshi Fujieda, a master swordsmith from what is now Tamamura Town, once known as Kawai Village in Kozuke Province. Fujieda was a leading figure among late-Edo period sword makers in Joshu. The exhibition displays his swords and related materials, exploring the powerful yet practical beauty of his creations. Through his works and the legacy inherited from his father, Eiichi, the exhibition traces Fujieda’s gentle yet passionate life and craftsmanship.
