Covering an area of approximately 180,000 square meters—about four times the size of Tokyo Dome—the Sengokuhara Pampas Grass Fields are one of Hakone's must-see scenic spots in autumn. In late September, the silver plumes of the grasses shimmer in the sunlight, while from late October to the end of November, the fields turn a gentle gold as the grasses fully bloom. Depending on the season, visitors can enjoy different breathtaking landscapes. On clear days, the combination of blue skies, white clouds, Hakone’s mountains, and the golden pampas grass creates a picturesque, painting-like view.
