From late September to early November, the crimson 'Roman Red' variety of salvia reaches its peak at the National Forest Park. Around 8,000 plants are cultivated near the Ponpoko Mountain side of the Sports Field Flower Garden, making it one of the largest displays of Roman Red salvia in Japan. During the blooming season, visitors are treated to a breathtaking carpet of deep red flowers and a refreshing sage fragrance. Blooming periods may vary depending on weather conditions.
