Clara, the eldest daughter of the Stahlbaum family, looks forward every year to meeting her charming friend Christoph at the Christmas party. However, this time Christoph is unable to keep his promise to attend. Instead, he asks Drosselmeyer to make a nutcracker doll and give it to Clara at the party on his behalf. Upon receiving the nutcracker, Clara is swept up into a magical Christmas night adventure.
