This immersive experience explores the connection between Claude Monet, a leading Impressionist painter, and the Japanese art of Ukiyo-e. In a vast 1,800-square-meter venue, visitors are surrounded by projections and music showcasing Monet’s landscapes and shifting light, alongside Ukiyo-e works by Hokusai, Hiroshige, and others. Wander freely and discover how Japanese prints influenced Monet and how Japanese and Western aesthetics intersected. The exhibition also features a recreated dining room inspired by Monet’s beloved Ukiyo-e collection in Giverny and informational booths introducing Ukiyo-e composition and artistic techniques.
