As the biggest event in Kitamoto City and one of the largest Nebuta festivals in the Kanto region, the Kitamoto Festival 'Evening Celebration' features a lively program. Daytime performances are followed in the evening by the powerful sound of Kitamoto drums, signaling the start of a parade with around 14 traditional Hiromae-style fan-shaped Nebuta floats and festival music floats. The festival also includes a musical ensemble competition and a mass performance of Nebuta music, drawing large crowds. This year's special event will again feature the unique 'Large Straw Bale Pulling' from Kitamoto's sister city, Aizubange in Fukushima Prefecture.
