SUMMARY:Taro Okamoto and Okinawa at Museum+205
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate 30 years of friendship between Naha and Kawasaki\, this exhibition explores Taro Okamoto’s first visit to Okinawa in 1959—a trip that left a lasting impression on the artist. During the American occupation of Okinawa\, Okamoto found in its land\, climate\, and daily life what he considered the lost origins of Japanese culture. The exhibition features photographs taken by Okamoto alongside selected quotes from his work 'Theory of Okinawan Culture.'\n\nhttps://www.walkerplus.com/event/ar0314e602135/
