Among them\, the vivid colors and enigmatic patterns of Northern Laos weaving express deep spiritual wishes. Following Laos's independence in 1953\, civil conflict forced many people to give up their traditional garments\, unintentionally revealing the region’s sophisticated weaving techniques to neighboring countries.
