SUMMARY:Designated Cultural Property of Chiba Prefecture: Special Exhibition of Ōmon Stone Lithograph Icons at the Former Tega Church
DESCRIPTION:The Former Tega Church was originally a thatched-roof private home converted into a church in 1881 and is the only surviving example of a reused church building in Japan. It is also the oldest existing church building in the Tokyo metropolitan area. In 2012\, it was designated as a tangible cultural property by Chiba Prefecture. While replicas are usually exhibited\, this special exhibition will feature the actual Ōmon stone lithograph icons.
