This traditional festival at Haguro Shrine features the dedication of 'bonten'—colorful bamboo poles, about 15 meters long—praying for a good harvest and family safety. Beginning some 300 years ago, young participants dressed in festival attire carry the bonten up the shrine approach with lively chants. In 2024, new events like floral water basin displays and kimono hula performances have been added. The festival also features rows of lively food stalls and booths.
