Echi Shrine is home to two ancient ginkgo trees, each around 500 years old. According to the shrine's history, they were planted when Minamoto no Yoriie of the Kamakura Shogunate rebuilt the shrine buildings. These venerable trees are officially designated as natural monuments by Atsugi City.
