Motoyagawa Gorge flows from Mount Kinpu, crossing the Masutomi Radium Hot Spring Valley from east to west and extending to Mizugaki Lake (Shiokawa Dam Reservoir). This area, including the gorge, was selected by the Ministry of the Environment in June 2008 as one of the '100 Remarkable Waters of the Heisei Era' under the name 'Headwaters of Mount Kinpu and Mount Mizugaki.' The section of the gorge from the hot spring valley to the Reisen Hut (a lodging facility) is especially noteworthy. From your car, you can see the clear stream up close and enjoy the vibrant autumn colors of larch, maple, oak, and birch trees.
